I tracked this guy for over two hours through the wilderness. He knew I was following him for sure as we would move from trees to fields then back to trees. After the first 10 minutes, it was obvious that he was a million times more agile... and I was a million times more dirty. After the event, not only was I covered in dirt and leaves, but it took me half an hour to figure out where in the world the road and my car was!

Anyone can come in contact with a goat of the storefront. I feel sense of incongruity for a name called "the egg of goat", but in fact, it is the name of the cakes.

It is made based on a lemon cake. The cloth of the cake mixes the goat's milk and the goat's cheese, and the surface is coated with white chocolate.

Oliver: I can be Adopted at the North Attleboro Animal Shelter.
“OLIVER”- Neutered Male- Shorthaired Black with White Tuxedo. Approx: 2 years. “ I was a stray for awhile. I was just wandering around, looking for a kind person to help me. It was really cold out, and I ended up getting sick ( Sick as a dog!)( well, maybe sick as a cat!). I was so sick that I couldn’t breathe, or even smell any of the food I was trying to find. Eventually, someone called about me and I ended up at the shelter. Since I was sick, I had to stay away from all the other cats. I was all by myself in the noisy dog room! (by myself for cats anyway- I sure knew there were dogs with me!) Anyway, those meds were great! It took some time, but, I have come along great! I now know when a can of really good food is being opened! I’m meowing for a treat as soon as I smell it! I also love to play with toys-specially those catnip filled ones! I can keep myself busy for hours! I have already been to the vets for ‘the visit’ (whatever that means…), and I am ready to hit the road to a new home. I have a few requirements though- Totally indoors (and you may have to remind me of that in the nice weather), an only cat (no interest in sharing my human friends with another cat) and older kids ( I’m still a little fresh when I’m excited!) So, if you have room in your heart for a big tuxie cat, then come along and visit me!” Loves that catnip Oliver!

Red-necked Wallaby

From Wikipedia:

A wallaby is any of about thirty species of macropod (Family Macropodidae). It is an informal designation generally used for any macropod that is smaller than a kangaroo or wallaroo that has not been given some other name.

Very small forest-dwelling wallabies are known as pademelons (genus Thylogale) and dorcopsises (genera Dorcopsis and Dorcopsulus). The name wallaby comes from the Eora Aboriginal tribe who were the original inhabitants of the Sydney area. Young wallabies are known as "joeys", like many other marsupials.

ENGLISH
Prince Charming is a stock character who originates in a number of fairy tales. He is the prince who comes to the rescue of the damsel in distress, and typically must engage in a quest to liberate her from an evil spell. The name has been given to the heroes of a number of traditional folk tales, including Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.

These characters are often handsome and romantic, a foil to the heroine, and are seldom deeply characterized, or even distinguishable from other such men who marry the heroine. In many variants, they can be viewed more as rewards for the heroine rather than characters.

In the eighteenth centurey, Madame d'Aulnoy wrote two fairy tales, The Story of Pretty Goldilocks, where the hero was named Avenant, and The Blue Bird, where the hero was Le roi Charmant ("The Charming King," in French). When Andrew Lang retold the first (in 1889) for The Blue Fairy Book, he rendered the hero's name as "Charming"; the second, for The Green Fairy Book, as "King Charming".

Although neither one was a prince and the first was not royal, this may have been the original use of "Charming."

Then, Oscar Wilde's 1890 novel The Picture of Dorian Gray refers ironically to "Prince Charming," perhaps the earliest use of the exact term. The main character, Dorian, is supposed to be a young actress's "Prince Charming," but he abandons her and in despair she commits suicide.

The Walt Disney animated version of Cinderella that appeared in 1950 further popularized the name in English. In the Charles Perrault version of Cinderella, and in most pre-Disney versions, the prince is not specifically identified as Prince Charming. Nor is the character of the Prince named Prince Charming - or for that matter anything else - in the earlier Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Since that film appeared, the name has been bestowed upon the highly similar characters who appear in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. In fact, the princely status of Prince Charming is more important to the plot of this latter tale, since it is his royal status that enables Prince Charming to break the curse that keeps Sleeping Beauty in her supernatural sleep. In Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" (1959) the Prince is named Phillip and never referred to as "Prince Charming".

In another variant, Prince Charming is the victim of a curse that has transmogrified him into a frog or toad. In this version, Prince Charming has to be kissed by a princess while in his amphibian form for the curse to be broken; only then can he be restored to his human form as a handsome prince.

CASTELLANO

2nd World Day for the Abolition of Meat - a Report from Italy

22 towns answered the call for the Abolition of Meat, planning events on January 30-31.
An extraordinarily large number of veg*ans participated by demonstrating against farming, hunting and fishing: 100 persons in Milan, 50 in Turin, 35 in Pordenone, 30 in Rome...
The activists created effective happenings, with masks and chains, forming lively representations of the objectification of animals and of mourning for their butchery, showing videos of animal exploitation and
filling the air with the victims' cries. We displayed the significance of this tragedy and brought it to public attention, in order to voice what we ourselves seldom dare to say: end the ongoing slaughter!

We handed out thousands of flyers and quizzes on the life of farmed
animals (available here: aboliamolacarne.blogspot.com/2010/01/materiali-per-la-sec... ).

The happenings were well covered by the medias: many newspapers and radios talked about the abolition of meat , reporting local demos, and the national TV followed the demos in Milan and Pordenone.

Complete reports with photos and videos from each town will be available on aboliamolacarne.blogspot.com. Photo gallery here: picasaweb.google.it/abolizionecarne

Oranjello likes to play with his food. Here he is seeming a little apprehensive about taking another swat at it.

BACKSTORY: This HUUUGE moth fell into our house from the back kitchen door. We called it "Mothra"; a common christening for house moths of this size. This was to be a good opportunity for Oranjello to satisfy his hunting urges, as well as to train him to hunt pests -- since we have the occasional mice and snakes (and raccoons!). It also proved to be an excellent photo-op.
