Found in Western and Central Java, this is a Silvery Gibbon. They are a critically endangered species due to habitat destruction caused by palm oil, logging and other human activities. Their dwindling population is thought to be between 2500-4000 individuals. Not many at all... They are also popular victims of the exotic pet trade.
