Wow, what a day. I woke up at 6 AM in Queenstown and drove all the way to Milford Sound. Milford Sound is perhaps the most beautiful and stunning place I’ve ever been. I couldn’t believe the different types of terrains/micro climates I experienced from Queenstown to the sound. Outside of Queenstown is mostly fields and dry areas. As you approach Fiorland National Park the elevation increases and along with it the vegetation. Once you get within a few miles of the coast and Milford Sound, the climate turns into an almost rainforest like feel with lush vegetation, mist everywhere and even parrots. I couldn’t resist only putting only one daily HDR photo up so today two photos are going up. This photo was taken just south of Queenstown. Everyone should go to Milford Sound and New Zealand. Peter Jackson had it right when he decided to attract hollywood to New Zealand’s majestic landscapes.

TIP - I took this photo at 7:30 AM. Sunrises usually make for some interesting sunlight. Yes, I know I hate getting up early too but it does pay off!
