This is my first picture of my first kitten, We found him the day I got back from Mt. Whitney. We named him Pounce and he was a kitten on the street abandoned by his mother along with two other littermates. A neighbor left food out for them and as usual he had managed to hog one of the bowls all for himself. Taking on another cat was a big responsibility, but he was so cute. He was about 4 weeks old.

We put him in the bathroom to protect him from Gibson, but he was scared of these human things and hid in the corner. When Gibson showed up, it was love at first Pounce and has been ever since.

(When we went back to visit the other kittens, they were gone. I guess other people in the complex adopted them.)

You can’t see how tiny he is in this shot but he's really tiny. Also the flash causes the characteristic green/yellow reflection off the tapetum of the cat's eyes.
